   I've since upgraded my mac mini to leopard, haven't reinstalled mediatomb since and I can't remember the specifics.  IIRC I pointed mediatomb at my itunes music (using the web admin pages) and it worked fine...

Which directories does the MediaTomb server stream your content from? Can you set it up to stream from the iTunes directory ?
Have you taken any security measures to prevent digital trespassers in your personal folders?
