Eclipse HTTP EFS plugin

September 13th, 2006

A while back I mentioned I’d be creating a HTTP EFS plugin. I finally got around to uploading the source (licensed under EPL) and a binary build onto Cape Clear’s developer website.

Note this is only a first cut but feedback is more than welcome to john.oshea@capeclear.com

I encourage you to add a link to this on http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Talk:EFS.

This works ok – I can see 1001 uses for it too. Thanks John :)

Can you tell me what happened with this plugin as capeclear doesn’t seem to exist anymore?

    Hey,
Capeclear were taken over by Workday but I think their developer website was taken offline shortly after the takeover. Afraid I have no idea what happened to the source for the plugin, I don’t think Eclipse ever built an equivalent into the core platform but you could ask John Arthorne (commented above) or someone else from the WTP team.
Either way, there wasn’t a whole lot of code to the plugin, maybe two very simple classes (it wasn’t a complete implementation of the EFS APIs, just enough to allow a HTTP based resource to be loaded into a project)
